The Daily Profit Score: Quality, Not Raw P&L

Why two traders up the same $300 get paid differently. What the 0 to 1000 score is, why The Desk grades quality instead of raw profit, and how it maps to your share.

6 MIN READ · THE DESK ACADEMY

Two traders finish a Daily Funded Session up exactly $300. One took nine planned trades, never drew down more than half a percent, and sized every position the same. The other went all-in on a single leveraged bet, sat through a 4% drawdown, and got bailed out at the close. Same profit. On The Desk they are paid very differently, because the Daily Profit Score grades how the $300 was made, not just that it exists.

A number from 0 to 1000

Every profitable session gets a Daily Profit Score between 0 and 1000. That score maps to your profit share: a high score can reach 95% of the day's profit, a low one keeps far less. The score is not a grade for its own sake. It is the dial that decides how much of your winning day you take home, which is why it is worth understanding factor by factor rather than treating it as a black box.

Why quality instead of raw profit

Paying a flat split on raw profit rewards the wrong behavior. It pays the gambler who got lucky the same as the professional who earned it, and over enough traders that model funds recklessness and goes broke. Quality scoring does the opposite. It pays the most to the traders whose profit was made in a repeatable, controlled way, because those are the traders who can do it again. The Desk can make a generous payout promise precisely because it does not pay generously for luck.

What the score actually reads

The score is built from eight core factors plus two deeper families. The core factors look at the shape of your day: how many trades you took, whether profit was spread across them or leaned on one, how much leverage you carried, how much of the market's movement you converted, how repeatable the profit looks, how much drawdown you took getting there, and how your results relate to news and to holding time. The two families, Skill and Anti-gaming, go further into risk-adjusted quality and into catching manipulation. The following lessons take the factors one at a time.

Knowledge pays better with capital behind it.
